Personality
Despite his laid back and genial personality, Lei Wulong is a respected detective with a rather impressive arrest record. He's a diligent officer who takes his job a little too seriously at time but somehow manages to maintain that unique fun-loving persona. The man's a complete goofball, a little too silly for his own good. He has a habit of playing pranks on others and likes to annoy colleagues with his playful antics. He's almost like a monkey in that regard. An overly rambunctious monkey that likes to cause as much trouble as possible when the mood strikes him right. Even so, Lei Wulong is a fair-minded and friendly individual with a strong sense of duty. He can be a bit clumsy at times but Lei's intentions are always pure.
While he's a stickler for law and order as a cop, Wulong doesn't always play by the rules. Wulong is also quite creative when it comes down to his unique style of Kung Fu. He uses his martial arts prowess to his advantage when hunting down criminals, earning him the name "Super Cop" among his colleagues. His laid back personality is offset by his impressive sense of duty. Wulong honestly loves being a cop. He takes the oath "protect & serve" quite seriously and does go out of his way to be an exemplary officer. Even though he's quite a laid back individual, deep down lurks a perfectionist intent on always getting the job done right. Wulong doesn't take well to losing, especially when it means losing a target. He's a little too hard on himself and a bit too stubborn for his own good.
His stubbornness can also be an asset since Wulong isn't the type to give up easily. However, it's more often than not a liability more often than not. He doesn't accept defeat well. Wulong certainly doesn't like leaving loose ends untied. In some aspect, Wulong has a slightly obsessive trait when it comes down to his police work. He honestly loves his job but at the same time, Wulong has a habit of running himself ragged. He's a workaholic and it's because of that that his girlfriend broke up with him. Wulong is the type to put his professional life ahead of his personal one, often alienating himself from those he holds dearest.
Powers
What Lei Wulong lacks in supernatural abilities, he makes up for with his mastery of kung fu. Wulong's form of unique martial arts is a mixture between Drunken Boxing and a traditional Chinese kung fu called "Wu Xing". This form of martial art allegedly originates from the Shaolin Temple in Henan. It mimics the movements and characteristics of the five animal-based forms: snake, crane, tiger, leopard & dragon, while also encompassing the philosophy of the Five Movements.
Each animal stance or "gate" offers the practitioner a wide array of defensive and offensive stances. It's through mastery of each stance that makes this particular martial arts quite effective. Lei is a capable fighter but his style is quite unorthodox. It's difficult for his opponents to read his moves since they're often erratic and quick in nature. He can flow in between styles easily and the five stances give him a wide range of movement. However, Wulong's true skill lies with how well he's able to read his opponents. His mixup game is pretty legendary and he's capable of completely changing the tide of the fight to his favor.
Outside of his Kung Fu, Wulong is pretty much a man of average strength. He can throw a good punch and an even better kick but he's only human. Wulong has impressive stamina for a man his age. He can keep with those young whippersnappers easily. Although, he does feel the aches and pains the next day. Wulong is quite athletic and can do somersaults and back flips with ease. He also has impeccable balance despite being a slight klutz outside of combat. The detective is sure footed like a cat.
